    RFID System Applicability Model for Traceability of Luggage at Airports

    One of the critical points in the framework of air transport, is the management of luggage at airports. Every year, a large number of people feel the need to travel for various reasons and that efficient management is a difficult task that needs to keep up with the growth demand in a satisfactorily. One of the problems that has not been solved is exactly the loss, misplacement or mishandling of baggage at airports, given the difficulty of the current management systems to monitor the baggage, which causes unwanted situations to life. Radiofrequency Identification Technology (RFID), integrated with an information system, presents itself as a solution to numerous daily setbacks in various segments, because its main feature is basically to capture information at a distance about some element in movement. By implementing a smart tag (tag) in each baggage, it becomes possible to trace it along the path. In order to solve this problem, the present work aims to develop a prototype software, integrated with RFID, to simulate the control of luggage at airports by means of three scenarios where luggage misplacement may occur

    In this work, an approach to implement a simplified fuzzy inference model for monitoring the conditions of workings of power generators through the pressure values ​​of combustion temperature and engine water pressure is displayed. The model helps the supervisory system, through real-time evaluation of the operating conditions of the engine in percentage rates. The application of tools based on computational intelligence, have shown efficiency in various areas of industrial engineering

    Fuzzy Method for in Control Acetaldehyde Generation in Resin Pet in the Process of Packaging Pre-Forms of Plastic Injection

    In order to control the drying temperature of the PET resin in the silo of the plastic injection molding machine, during the plastic injection process in the industries producing preforms for the manufacture of beverage bottles, care is taken in the ideal temperature regulation for the better performance in controlling the generation of Acetaldehyde (AA), which alters the taste of carbonated or non-carbonated drinks, providing a citrus nuance to the palate and questioning the quality of the packaged products The objective of this work is to develop a tool based on Fuzzy logic to support the control of the drying temperature of PET resin, allowing specialists to make the ideal temperature control decisions necessary to control the generation of Acetaldehyde (AA). For the development of the proposed Fuzzy inference model, we used the Matlab Fuzzy toolbox tool, where the input variables, the fuzzyfication rules and the output variable were implemented based on the data collected from the preform injection process. From the inference model, we obtained a more precise management of the variables that influence the generation of AA, estimating a reduction of $ 240,044.00 in annual costs in the production of preforms

    Approach of Passive Filters using NSGA II in industrial installations: Part I

    The optimization of passive filters in industrial systems has been presented by different computational methods. The objective of this paper is to develop a computational algorithm with NSGA II to select the configuration and design parameters of a set of passive filters for industrial installations. As a methodology, the optimization problem was addressed using three independent objective functions of innovative character for compensation of harmonics through passive filters as a multiobjective problem. The results were the computational solution to this problem that determines a set of Pareto optimal solutions (Frontier). In addition, the computational tool has several new features such as: calculates the parameters that characterize the filters, but also selects the type of configuration and the number of branches of the filter in each candidate bar according to a set of pre-established configurations according to PRODIST-M8 (Brazilian Standard) and IEEE 519-2014. Also determine solutions with good power quality indicators (THD, TDD and NPV) for several characteristic and non-characteristic scenarios of the system that allow to represent: daily variations of the load, and variations of system parameters and filters. It evaluates the cost of energy bills in an industrial power grid that has different operating conditions (characteristic scenarios) and evaluates the economic effect of harmonic filters as reactive power compensators

    Electrocardiographic predictors of mortality: data from a primary care tele-electrocardiography cohort of Brazilian patients

    Computerized electrocardiography (ECG) has been widely used and allows linkage to electronic medical records. The present study describes the development and clinical applications of an electronic cohort derived from a digital ECG database obtained by the Telehealth Network of Minas Gerais, Brazil, for the period 2010–2017, linked to the mortality data from the national information system, the Clinical Outcomes in Digital Electrocardiography (CODE) dataset. From 2,470,424 ECGs, 1,773,689 patients were identified. A total of 1,666,778 (94%) underwent a valid ECG recording for the period 2010 to 2017, with 1,558,421 patients over 16 years old; 40.2% were men, with a mean age of 51.7 [SD 17.6] years. During a mean follow-up of 3.7 years, the mortality rate was 3.3%. ECG abnormalities assessed were: atrial fibrillation (AF), right bundle branch block (RBBB), left bundle branch block (LBBB), atrioventricular block (AVB), and ventricular pre-excitation. Most ECG abnormalities (AF: Hazard ratio [HR] 2.10; 95% CI 2.03–2.17; RBBB: HR 1.32; 95%CI 1.27–1.36; LBBB: HR 1.69; 95% CI 1.62–1.76; first degree AVB: Relative survival [RS]: 0.76; 95% CI0.71–0.81; 2:1 AVB: RS 0.21 95% CI0.09–0.52; and RS 0.36; third degree AVB: 95% CI 0.26–0.49) were predictors of overall mortality, except for ventricular pre-excitation (HR 1.41; 95% CI 0.56–3.57) and Mobitz I AVB (RS 0.65; 95% CI 0.34–1.24). In conclusion, a large ECG database established by a telehealth network can be a useful tool for facilitating new advances in the fields of digital electrocardiography, clinical cardiology and cardiovascular epidemiology

    Stationary solutions for the parity-even sector of the CPT-even and Lorentz-covariance-violating term of the standard model extension

    In this work, we focus on some properties of the parity-even sector of the CPT-even electrodynamics of the standard model extension. We analyze how the six non-birefringent terms belonging to this sector modify the static and stationary classical solutions of the usual Maxwell theory. We observe that the parity-even terms do not couple the electric and magnetic sectors (at least in the stationary regime). The Green's method is used to obtain solutions for the field strengths E and B at first order in the Lorentz- covariance-violating parameters. Explicit solutions are attained for point-like and spatially extended sources, for which a dipolar expansion is achieved. Finally, it is presented an Earth-based experiment that can lead (in principle) to an upper bound on the anisotropic coefficients as stringent as (κ~e−)ij<2.9×10−20.(\widetilde{\kappa}_{e-}) ^{ij}<2.9\times10^{-20}.Comment: 8 pages, revtex style, revised published version, to appear in EPJC (2009

    Consistency analysis of a nonbirefringent Lorentz-violating planar model

    In this work analyze the physical consistency of a nonbirefringent Lorentz-violating planar model via the analysis of the pole structure of its Feynman propagators. The nonbirefringent planar model, obtained from the dimensional reduction of the CPT-even gauge sector of the standard model extension, is composed of a gauge and a scalar fields, being affected by Lorentz-violating (LIV) coefficients encoded in the symmetric tensor κμν\kappa_{\mu\nu}. The propagator of the gauge field is explicitly evaluated and expressed in terms of linear independent symmetric tensors, presenting only one physical mode. The same holds for the scalar propagator. A consistency analysis is performed based on the poles of the propagators. The isotropic parity-even sector is stable, causal and unitary mode for 0≤κ00<10\leq\kappa_{00}<1. On the other hand, the anisotropic sector is stable and unitary but in general noncausal. Finally, it is shown that this planar model interacting with a λ∣φ∣4−\lambda|\varphi|^{4}-Higgs field supports compactlike vortex configurations.Comment: 11 pages, revtex style, final revised versio
